I have seen many posts online about different length stocks on SKS's from different countries. Just thought I would mention again that this is not correct. The pic below shows my little collection. Now you will not perpetuate the myth! :dancingbanana:

top to bottom: norinco D model, norinco factory 26, russian, yugo M59, yugo M59/66. All are laid out on a tiled floor with the butt tips on one seam. It is easy to see they are all the same size stocks and rifles.

+1 Kasat, I own D and had a chance to see it myself when I bought one piece gas tube from SKSman; it did not fit.

Are you sure it's a "D", not "M"?
 
Oh I agree with the short gas tube as I bought a cheese grater hand guard that doesn't fit either. But it's hard to say if the stock is shorter. D is marked on receiver
 
There are shorter cut down SKS stocks out there...I know as I have handled them.
usually they have a non-factory butt stock pad...at least the ones I have handled.

Nice collection in the pics, I hope we get to keep them non-restricted status.
