I have a long action savage 110 fp. The length of the scope is to short for the action (, I did not want to use ring extensions.)
Here is how I did it cheap and easy and strong.
step 1.... buy 2 weaver 40 (A) 48040 base
step 2... mount one front of action recoil slot towards butt.
step 3...cut 2nd base right off the at the slot. base wil be 34.30 mm after cut.
step 4... make a new slot from 16.75mm to 20.75mm from the end you didn't no cut
(note the slot is 4mm wide. I screw the mount to a 2x4 and put it in the vise made it easy to work on. I used tape to line either side.) I used a dremel with high speed cuter.
I used a sharpie to touch it up..
