G-36 Build Feasible?

How difficult and what might the costs be to build a G-36 look-alike from a HK SL8? The SL8 is already too high in price but the G-36 layout and weight is certainly nicer.

It will probably cost you close to the price of the rifle for all the parts and barrel work.

About a year and a half ago there were quite a few threads on SL8 to G36C conversions. At the time, it cost about $4500 to buy and convert the SL8; meanwhile a real restricted G36C was going for around $5000.

Well right now I believe that they are working on a aluminum conversion block in the US. It should make the conversion alot easier and more robust. I have considered this project but I'm waiting for the block so that you can use genuine G36 parts.Ok this is the prototype block.They are working on one that will not require you to cut the receiver, some mod to the pistol/fire group is required but that may change.
