I felt a little dirty for doing this, but after dropping a decent amount of money on an Eotech 552 for my AR, I wanted a magnification option for longer ranges but didn't want to drop another ~$400-$500 on a magnifier to put behind it. So... clicked my way to Ebay and bought a G&P 4x Eotech magnifier clone with Flip-to-side mount. for a fraction of the price. I figured being simply a magnifier there were no adjustments to break.
I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the glass was quite clear. And since it's going on my AR.... it's not like it's gotta live through harsh conditions... all it's ever gonna see are shooting ranges.
However my complaint is directed at the obviously knock-off FTS mount haha.... one of the pins holding the flip locking latch broke during it's first range session in about 30 shots or so. No biggie.... probably gonna fix the pin, and if anything else breaks... just gonna have the top and bottom welded together and use it as a fixed mount.
Thinking about getting a real eotech magnifier mount to use.... any thoughts?
