Is there an affordable option for a decent rail mounted light out there? All I see is crazy expensive weapon specific lights, even on the used market I can't get myself to spend that much for something that will live in my safe. Or any suggestions of small size flashlight and mount combo?

Thanks

X300 for the win, they will be cheap soon too, as soon as the X300 extreme (or what ever they call it) hit the streets.

ZZ3, what is your definition of affordable for a weapon light? TLR-1's you can get for around $100 and X300's are around $200.

A 100$ is not too bad, I would not pay that for a handheld flashlight though but the more affordable the better. It seems like there is nothing under the 100$ mark, I find it's a lot of money for what it is.

Do I really have to explain why I want a light?

If you want just a basic light, you can get a Glock light for like, 60-80 bucks from the US, or maybe a bit more in Canada. I bought one off a friend for 20 dollars but that's just a killer deal. It's bright as hell, but probably not as good as a Streamlight or Surefire.

TLR-1, not expensive, very reliable. I have one on my bedroom G17 (stored compliant to regs in a safe of course).

My G17 with X400 is underneath the underwear and the mags are underneath the socks in my nightstand... As per regs... ;)

Either way, If we ever have to neutralize a threat in our home we will get an unsafe storage charge followed by jail...

But that is well worth the safety of my family... :D

Yup...don't you just love those dumb posts by people asking what are you going to shoot at in the dark? Or, why do you want to buy hollow point ammo? Or why do you want to own a laser? Or why do you want to buy 00 buck? etc, etc.

As for the light question....I have both a Glock weapon light and a Surefire X300. The Surefire is much nicer and the quality is awesome, but the relatively cheap Glock light does the job just fine and is much more affordable at half the price of the Surefire.
