I have a friend who wants to sell his G33/40. The condition is in excellent condition, no nicks, rust pitting etc. However, the stamp on the reciever is DOT 1942. It is marked 7.62 right above it. The original sling is with it as well. I'm trying to find a website or guidence to see if the following are accurate, a) is it real, 2) conversions? and 3) maybe a value?
sidenote this rifle comes from a gentleman who's father was a respected collector back in the day. But, I do have some doubts about it

Whats it worth. I have seen untouched ones on here go for between 2000-2500. But this one has been modified, plus I think the front site is not original.

Israeili Mausers seem to go for about $400- $600 in nice condition, but that's a guess. You might get a little extra for the uniqueness of your being built off a 33/40 receiver.

Well the rifle is all G33/40, just the chamber has been modified along with the front site. So I would say 8-900$

No Politi mark, thus and Israeli. But, the original collector had a habit of reboring rifles into new calibers. Sad, but it will live on as a shooter
