G36 Heat Stress Test

Whenever you start treating any assault rifle like a light machine gun, you will run into issues. That is not what they were designed for. I would like to see the same ammo dump and accuracy test done on a M4 at the same time as a G36 and see the results. Im willing to bet the poi shift results would be roughly similar. The Germans are asinine to be ditching the G36 so soon after adopting it. It is a fine gun.
This is something they touch on in the video. If you are familiar with the channel, you'd know they did a lightweight AR build (WWSD, or "what would stoner do). One of the steps they took while evaluating parts was to do a similar test on different manufactures of pencil barrels, including an original Colt, to see differences in POI shifts.
The point of the video is not "G36 bad," because it's certainly not, but rather to demonstrate the advances in manufacturing methods for barrels. The HK marked barrels built to 1990's standards might be collectible and authentic, but a modern barrel in the same gun performs noticeably better (and will be MUCH cheaper for a civilian to buy)

What a waste of time, ammo and rifle.
These are US made clones by Tommy Built, T36.
The trunnion and receiver, the parts that are reported to fail, are US made clones and have nothing to do with the HK G36.
Heckler and Koch polymer is proprietary, and the trunnion steel grade was never public info. T36 is a hybrid of SL8 internals with G36 externals, so it’s not even a 1:1 copy.

Considering that the rifles didn't fail by any definition, and the US-made barrel performed even better than the much more expensive HK barrel, they seem like a pretty good deal.
