Here's another movie/reality question, do spies/snipers really carry their firearms disassembled in the case?

For a sniper, I'd imagine only if they were going into a place where the shot was less the 300 yards or so.... a rifle that disassembles ain't gonna have the same potential consistancy as a solid stock rifle.

not necessarily true, i've seen some .50 takedowns in special weapons magazine
i think they were called TTR-50 or something(tactical takedown rifle, .50 cal)
i'm pretty sure they were shooting pretty far in the article, but i could be mistaken
i'll have to dig and find the article
