G36 mags for SL8

Just got 4 of them in the mail today, I'm sooo happy, I just had to share. :D

And yes, they fit, all you have to do is file the edges - rather than modifying the rifle.
 
The mags are worth more uncut. "modifying" the rifle consists of removing two non-structural nubbins that are invisible in normal use - I'd do that before hacking the mags.

Actually, I paid $200 for all 4. Helps to have friends in Germany. :D

Although getting all the import paperwork was quite a hassle, at least it was free.
 
Regardless of price, cutting the mags instead of the magazine well does not a deal make.

I think you'd be farther ahead to have modded the well. Far less work, if you want to look at it that way. Cut and file four raised sections of synthetic, or chop and file sixteen slots?

Only two inside the magwell. It's a 15-minute job if you're being careful.

Either way, cutting the G36 mags weakens them, they don't have enough material at the front where the notches have to go - SL8 mags are molded differently.

Great deal on the mags though.
 
Here is my SL-8 with AR mag well. :D Jamie did the mag work for me. Arwen Ace did the Vortec.

I find it very helpful using the AR mag since everyone else I shoot with does as well.

Hey Darren, What needed to be modified to fit the AR mags? Just the magwell?

Hey Marco!!

Yes, just the mag well, there are two little nubs that guys have mentioned earlier in the thread that need to be removed. Once this is done the and the new mag well put on, your good to go.

Where can I get some G36 mags....i can't find any in Ontario.....

and yes my G36K is a dream to shoot
