Anyone know if these are safe on the OIC list? Looking for one of the two but worry they might be on there? Also if anyone has one hoping to sell please PM me thank you!

Regulations Amending the Regulations Prescribing Certain Firearms and Other Weapons, Components and Parts of Weapons, Accessories, Cartridge Magazines, Ammunition and Projectiles as Prohibited, Restricted or Non-Restricted: SOR/2020-96

The Gewehr 41 and 43 do not appear to be listed.

But as others have said, nothing is really safe from gun control.

Maybe you know this already, but be real cautious when looking at G/K43's. There are quite a few around Canada, but the vast vast majority of them are East German reworks. And I find sellers up here have a tendency to not disclose that info, either cause they are looking for the big bucks or are just ignorant themselves. However, if you are cool with an East German rework than not much to worry about.

Safe at least until the next election is my guess. After that perhaps prohibited but grandfathered? But no idea which version of the several meanings of prohibited that currently exist (ownership vs ability to transfer vs abiltity to take to range and shoot....

To add onto this, you also have to be carful with receiver and bolt carrier damage on K43s, ensure you give a proper inspection, look for damage where the gas piston works the bolt carrier, look at the rear of the receiver and ensure it isnt bowed out. Lots of these are overgassed, if you plan on shooting get an adjustable gas regulator and start with the smallest size and work your way up until it runs reliably

Thank you so very much for the info guys! Much appreciated! I asked this one seller about the one he put up for sale, he never got back to me guess his is one of those reworks. Still looking, thank you guys!

Rework or not ,I don’t think there will be any more coming to Canastan ever.

100% that, and do keep in mind that a DDR rework still holds history of what transprired to the rifle(s) during its service life and travels over time. While finding a all matching, pristine, NIB is everyones dream one can search for ever and not find that unicorn.

My issue isn't with DDR reworks in themselves. All the post war reworked/refurbed German guns (which is 99% of what is out there btw) are cool and have lots of history all by themselves.

My issue is that sellers often try and pass off DDR reworks, or whatever else, as period original and matching WW2 era rifles... which they are not. You see the same thing happen with K98k's all the time. I can't even count the number of times I've seen French/East German/Czech refurb K98k's listed on the EE or somewhere else as "original matching German K98k!".

^ I was just and only refering to the reworked rifles as being something for someone not to turn their noses up at, if a seller knowingly misrepresents a rifle as original that is bad form, doing so in ignorance gets a bit of a pass but should still be called on it, as they say "buyer beware".
