I see by looking through this forum that people ask about values from time to time. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm thinning out the collection a little and looking to sell a G43 duv44 (all matching) with an original dow ZF4 and mount (not SN to each other or the gun). It's not a 'duffle-cut', and I do not know the bring-back history on it.

If whoever sold this to me could message me I'd greatly appreciate it.

It's been years since I bought this gun or any others like it. I've tried reaching out to a few forum guys from those years and some emails are being returned as non-existent.

Any thoughts on value would be appreciated.

NO! I'm not frustrated, these rifle are so nice.

Do you shoot them?

Me to, I have two of them, and I prefer them over my Garand.

Condition of the bore?

Modified gaz system?

Cracked bolt carrier?

Ok, good! I have four different models of G/K43s and two of the three G41s...I just need a 'w' :)

I do not shoot them...ever. Perhaps it's in Weaver's book that I read that some degree of sabotage occurred in the production process - especially with the Gustloff (bcd) versions. I'm afraid to break something.

I'll look at the bore when I get home.

Modified gas system??? Not sure - how would I know?

No cracks that I'm aware of.

I will be looking for a G41m and a G41w soon... hard to find these guys.

For the gas system - If you disassemble it and look at the head you will see an allen screw with a hole in it. For a modified/adjustable gas system these screws have different heads and are interchangeable to bring the gas pressure down. It is a must for shooting these so they don't beat themselves to death. G43s that are fired a lot without could have the rear of the receiver begin to bow out and the safety can have issues as a result from this. Below is a pic of the adjustable gas system for you to compare to yours

Nice rifles btw!

Thanks so much for the pic. I certainly will have a look.

I picked up a G41 duv many years ago, and followed it shortly thereafter with a G41m - that is the most bizarre rifle I have ever seen.

I seem to recall that a 'w' came up on the forum years ago, but if it did, I didn't have the $$$ then to snap it up after the G41m purchase.

The question about value can be researched by reviewing the back sales at Switzer's for instance. I recall they sold a G43 last year, but don't remember the price. It was easily $4-grand, and did not have the wartime scope. I'd put $2-grand onto the retail price of any rifle that had a good scope.

Scopeis the problem with these rifles, very lucky to find a good one.
