Has anyone used one of these, or has one? I am thinking of buying one but have heard mixed reviews about it.
Do they pick up targets well at long distance and are they worth the $1800?

They supposedly work well. In my opinion, if you require the built-in ballistics calculator then go for the G7... if you are strictly looking for something that ranges extreme distances (considerably more than the G7) then go for the Vectronix Terrapin for about the same price.

Wheels, I have been looking at the vectronix also to use with my Kestrel 4500nv. The G7 just looked like a interesting setup that I could use and compare with the Kestrel.

I'm in the same boat here but the G7 doesn't calculate in MIL and I have gone MIL with all my optics. Having said that, the rumor is that the Gunwerks boys were supposed to be working on some military/LE stuff this summer and possibly going to incorporate MIL into the G7 rangefinder. This is the only reason I have held off from buying the Terapin.
