Galand s x s 12 gauge.

I have recently acquired a very nice Galand side by side 12 gauge. However I have not been able to find much info on these particular guns. Can anyone help out with info or directions for finding info.

Is your gun hammerless? Damascus barrels? Engraving? Any idea how old it is? (Galand produced firearms until 1942).

I have seen a hammerless Galand sidelock with Damascus barrels and deep relief engraving that was said to be circa 1915. It was a very nice gun indeed.

The one I have is a hammerless sidelock. The barrels are not damascus. I have been using it this fall for grouse and it is a great gun for that application.
