I have a neighbour looking to sell a Spypoint "Smart" 10MP game cam for $100-$120. She also will throw in a memory card. I have zero experience with these Spypoint cams.... does anyone have experience with this type? are they good? or should I steer clear?

Thanks.

I have a few Spypoints and they have been very good. Check the specs on the model you are thinking about buying, they can be quite different model to model. Some have better features when set up on trails and others are better set up over bait. And they are Canadian made!!!

My friend just tried spypoint this year, seemed to work good. Not sure which model. If your buying a camera used you might want to see how old it is, around here cameras only seem to last 3-4 years before they start acting up. My friends and I have tried a bunch of different brands and this seems to be that same across the board.

I saw a few videos on youtube on it. I will buy it, and try it out. it's new out of the box less then 2 weeks. She wanted to put it in her car in the parking area - as it was being vandalized. Now she does not want it. I think she cant set it up in her car due to its size. Anyways, I'll give it a try.

Update. I got the cam. It comes with a mounting bracket, and a strap. It takes a micro SD card. It has "Intelligent Triggering Technology" and is very simple to operate. I have been testing it over the past 2 days and I am quite happy with it. It also has settings that can turn it in to a security camera with either photos or videos. I'll post some pics up later on.
