Game cart question

So I have always hunted private fields that I can just drag a deer to the road or drive straight to the downed deer to pick it up. But now I am going to hunt public land and was just wondering if you guys take a cart around with you or leave it in the truck till you need it then go and get the cart when you need it?
 
If you take it into the field while going in to hunt, change out any and all washers to Teflon, it cuts down on the noise considerably. I transitioned to a long plastic sled from CT, reinforced the sides and put in eight o hooks for cross tying a load, four to the side and find it easier and quieter than my cart. It skids really well on grass and snow. This years whitetail buck was 182 pounds minus entrails, hide, head and legs below the knees, it was far easier than the wheeled cart. On flat soil, no grass or snow however, the cart is better.
 
I made a simple 'game cart' with a bar with threaded ends that I can attach kids size mountain bike tires on each end. also made two fastening points by bending 3/16 round stock into a U shape and stabbing it onto the bar on each side just inside the tire. weighs about 6.5 pounds and I can easily lash the two wheels to my pack and stuff the 20 inch bar in my pack.
If I get an animal down I assemble the bar with the wheels on each end, cut two poles from deadfall or saplings and lash them to the bar. lash on your deer or moose/elk quarters and off you go.
 
I could’ve used something like this last year, I’ve been trying to keep the amount of gear I carry around to a minimum though. Didn’t need one this year, th deer I shot were an easy drag to the trail or easy enough to get into the bush with the quad to retrieve it. I have a big pack in the truck with an internal frame in case I need to quarter something and pack it out.
 
I have used a contractor size wheelbarrow a few times. The tough part was pushing the empty wheelbarrow up the hill to where I hunted, and getting a big buck into the wheelbarrow when alone. WK
 
I have a black plastic hauler that they sell for ice fishing. Also have a 2 wheel game cart with wheels. Which I modified and made it longer on both ends. I found that the one with wheels was too short . I always have tie straps and bungees with them.
 
I have both, leave them both at home if hunting on my land, or in the truck if elsewhere. I choose whichever seems more appropriate for the case at hand...which is the sled about 90% of the time.
