game finders

Buy yourself a dog.... just be sure to put it on leash!! I've found a deer once that we had been searching for hours and found it in minutes with our german sheppard...

Myself and a hunting partner actually tested one of the gamefinder units to find a freshly killed elk.It turned out to be a complete waste of money.

Once you see how the system works, and ignore false targets it works like a charm. :D To test the system have a friend hide in a section of woods and find him. The big problems I had were when the sun warmed pockets of woods, trees and such, the gain adjustment will get rid of this along with a steady sweep of the area . When leds light up from the same bearing every time, your on a valid target. Which could be other hunters/animals :D

I'd have a good time using one.... if they worked.
What brand?
how much?

$350 I think I paid, this one is a newer version that is easier to use

I believe they are on sale right now - my dad was thinking of getting one.

From what i've heard, the newer ones are pretty decent. The older ones sucked - way too many false positives.

I can see them being somewhat valuable - especially for things like bear hunting where you may not get much of a blood trail. Bit of a gimmick - but if your circumstances make it usefull, by all means.

BTW - the 'bloodfinder' light really works actually - but you can 'make your own' quite easily. use any blue-white led flashlight in one hand, and then use a single led red light in the other. flick the red light on and off. It really does make anything blood coloured jump right out at you.

I tried it with this little red led - quite reasonably priced i might add :)

Quite easy to just 'flicker' with your thumb and you can buy 'em anywhere - although www.swords.ca is one of our sponsors here.

We had a freshly killed elk on the ground on a cool morning and attempted to use the device to locate the elk since my friend wanted to test it.The readings were so inconsistant, that we had to resort to tracking the animal. We then had the remaining two members of our party try to use the device to locate the dead elk with the same results.

Well let us know how it works - i'm told you need to pratice to get the hang of 'em, so go make the kids or the dog run around and lay down in the woods and see if you can find 'em :) We'll be waiting to hear how it goes.

lol foxer, the link is to a scope I believe that costs 20,000.

Thats why I'm selling my kidneys.

Can that go in the EE forum?

LOL

I wish I had that kind of money lol

Would you mind strapping yourself to a bait barrel and acting like a coyote in distress when I go bear hunting?

I was thinking about my girlfriend, but that could hamper future benefits!!!
