Hello all,

I am still pretty new to hunting and have had a busy non hunting year thus far. Well I have just recently been able to free up some time to hunt deer (archery) in the coming days Monday-Wednesday.

Problem is the weather looks terrible. I am in Brant county and they are calling for rain everyday with the exception of Wednesday. I really don't want to been chasing a blood trail in the rain so do I just wait it out and pray for Wednesday? The wind looks good for my stand for all the days however.

I have been seeing lots of sign and pegged down a rub/scrap line that technically ends at my stand.

Lets hear how you would play it!?

One thing you'll learn through experience is that when you're hunting, you must always expect that things don't go to plan. If your blood trail washes away, execute a grid search for your game.

I shot a nice buck two weeks ago with my bow and had no blood trail at all. He only went 50 yards but the blood filled his chest cavity instead of spilling out. Rain would not have made a difference in that case.

One thing is for sure: if you don't go, you won't be successful :). Get out there and hunt.

If these are your days off, go out & make the best of it. Deer still move on rainy days too. Be careful & chose your shots if you are worried about tracking in the rain. I never let rain stop me from hunting. Some of my best hunts have been on rainy days. Rain seems to keep all but the serious hunters out of the woods :D. Good luck on your hunt!

I appreciate your desire to ensure you retrieve your game.... but go hunting... it takes quite a bit of rain to wash away a good blood trail.... and as others said, there are more ways than a blood trail to find a downed deer

Cool weather ahead after tommorow.... rain coming.... you may get lucky... the rut is winding down and tghe bucks will be searching high and low for the last does still in heat... good luck bud....
