hey guys

a friend of mine from work bought a Gamo air rifle in the mid eighties from Epps for $600. It was the Magnum model, he got a nice scope and a hard case for it too. He does not have his pal and now that the long guns gone he is looking to sell it.

here is the problem, i have no idea the pricing of these types of guns.

so i come to the experts.

he tells me its a single shot, break action, single pump... used very very very little.

if anyone knows the value of a mint cond. gamo from the 80s please let me know so i can pass the info on. if you need pics, say the word and i will try my best to get some up.

thanks alot cgn's

Sounds way too high to me, unless it's some match-grade Gamo I've never heard of...OR...the scope is some uber-exotic/expensive thing~both very doubtful.

Get a model # for the gun, and make/model on the scope and I might be able to offer some ideas. At the very least, I think I know someone who WOULD know.

Gamo isn't really high end. At least not the one's I've had or seen. If you are thinking about spending some serious coin on a magnum springer air rifle, do some shopping around. There are some fine air rifles, but don't expect to pay less than you would for a firearm of equal quality.

grizzly, you did not answer the question i asked. i asked for an estimate value, i did not state i was interested in buying anything.

You have to get a model name or number so as to identify it to make any sort of sensible answer to its value.

i have a gamo magnum i bought used in mint cond. for $75. It came with a reciept and the original owner paid about $150 for it. I bought it in the mid-90's. Not sure when it was purchased new. It's not the greatest airgun ever. About 700fps. Sights are very coarse, otherwise it would be quite accurate.

scope is a Bushnel 4x Sportsview 22. Case is made by Koplin.

Rifle is in excellent condition. Coking spring firm

pics to come... once i figure it out

alrighty i got those pics up with the previous information i posted thats alll i got and i will get.

and guesses to the value??? i am thinking max of $250 for the kit. am i off by much??

Looks like a $125 gamo :) made before they switched to the plastic stock (i have one). The scope is worth about 20 bucks. The gun boot is an olde rmodel that they no longer make. New ones go from 50-150 (150 with the liner and atv mount) bucks.

I'd say either your buddy got ripped off HARD, or he's lyign to you as to how much he paid for it. I'd offer him $175 for the whole shebang and not budge one cent.

How well do the seals on these old guns hold up after years of storage? Being a "magnum", I would think it would be under even more stress when fired. A lot of the seals were leather (maybe still are?). Could be prone to drying.
