A honest assessment, complete with putting the rifle into historical perspective. Not perfect, in hindsight, but better than anything used in this scale before it. If the M1 had not happened, when would the M16 have been developed? Every semi of WW2 vintage has its faults, for some it was the complexity and cost of manufacture.
