I acquired one of these in unused condition without instructions. Member Pocketfisherman used to be fairly active on CGN and used to offer these for sale on the EE, but I can't seem to raise him. I think that he had these made up by someone for him. Does anyone have a copy of the instructions that came with these that they could scan and post, or perhaps fax to me?

I figured you for a hand loader.
Mine is packed away in all of my hunting stuff as I took one of my M1's up hunting this year but basically you screw in the gas plug without any allen screw insert installed yet and tighten it down really tightly like a regular gas plug. To find the largest holed allen head vent screw, place them all in front of you with the allen head down and the tiny little holes facing up. You will be able to see which one has the largest hole in it by doing this. Take that screw and, with the appropriately sized allen wrench, screw it into the gas plug hole tightly and you are done. I have a few of these, and they all seem to cycle very nicely using the largest hole and using commercial 150 gr. ammo. It tosses my brass about 3 feet to the 2-3 o'clock position.
Go a bit easy on tightening it up though as the plug is anodized aluminum and the screws are steel.
It says that if it is too weak to cycle reliably, you go to the next smallest hole to vent less gas, etc...

You figured right. I'm a commercial ammo teetotaller when it comes to Garands. In this case I want to try some handloads using a stash of WC755 powder that I have on hand. It is an Olin commercial lot ball powder and is the most accurate powder I've shot in a couple of .308 Win bolt guns. It's too slow burning for the Garand though, somewhere around H380, so I want to use an adjustable gas plug with it when testing it in my 7.62 NATO Garands.

Yes, it is one that I got from him. I also have one of the McCann ones that I picked up before Pocket started to make and sell his which uses the same design.
Ok, I didn't really have a good look at it, it just seemed a little softer as my large screwdriver dented the edges of the single slot gas plug slightly when I tightened it down in the gas cylinder. Wth the new design, if you could make it like the newer versions of the gas plug with the cross configuration that is the same size as the originals, that would be great. I have one of the gas plug wrenches, but it only fits into the newer version with the cross shaped end. In conjunction with the gas cylinder wrench, these gas plug wrenches really work well and I would love to be able to use both wrenches when installing you newly designed gas plug! Just a thought!
Looking forward to the new design! Did you ever get the adjustable gas plug designed and tested out for the M305/M14S/M1A rifle you were toying with?
