Hopefully this is the right section.

I have encountered a strange issue with my M1 that I have not seen elsewhere before. Roughly every 40 rounds, the allan screw that holds the front sight post tight works itself loose.

This is the allan screw in question.

I snug it up firmly, without going to a ridiculous level of force, but it still works itself loose. This is the third time that this has happened in as many trips to the range. Very frustrating as I have to keep playing with the sights to realign them.

Is there any solution that I can do that will keep the screw tight but does not involve permanent damage to the screw or sight?

Loctite. Red or Blue depending on what you may want to do next. Blue is easier to remove I believe, not as strong. May need about 300 deg. Fahrenheit or higher to loosen. I had a similar problem with a front target sight on a pistol and I used the Red 'cause I don't intend to move it.
