can someone send me a PM and explain how to assemble a garand? I have the barreled action, stock and trigger group but don't know how to put them together

Insert the barreled action into the stock. Make sure the hammer is back and the safety is off on the trigger group, with the trigger guard opened up. Insert the trigger group up into the corresponding recess, then rotate the trigger guard back. It should have little resistance until it firmly locks in place with a tap.

how do I open the trigger guard?

Pull back on the trigger guard behind the trigger until the hook is free of the trigger assembly, then rotate down. The trigger assembly cams into the receiver when the trigger guard is closed again. A small screwdriver inserted through as a bar to pull on behind the trigger to pull back and flex the trigger guard can help. Also, the hole at the back of the trigger guard can be used to leverage and flex the guard clasp slightly for opening/closing again with a small screwdriver or rod.
