Garrison Petawawa PR1- 26-27 May 2018- Debrief Here!!

I think i finally have it right with visible headings not cut off...

A8D901D8-CC12-4016-A670-4DAF638368C6.jpg

First Place : TRDJer & John AT 350 points
Second Place: CL & ML or Claude and Mikhail 37 points
Third Place: Mustang979 & Lutnit 343 points

Notice there is only a few points spread between first , second and third

Notice there is a tie with 315 points and the Vbull count is employed so: 315-16V against 315-12V....guess who wins that one?

Another tie exists with the 257 point scores. I will let you figure out who wins that tie. And now many of you understand how the VBull count works

More to come...

Cheers, Barney

"Well I dunno if I would call the next meeting on 9-10 June a clinic but it’s really more like a walk back and match weekend." Oops, poor choice of words on my part. Like I said, rank amateur. 😀 Thanks for posting the results. "

I found it really cool to have Kilo One, a new shooter, be my partner for Match Day.

We did target prep, presentation, scoring, patching, hit spotting down in the butts. All things new players are apprehensive about, but he did just fine.
He did good spotting for me while I shot, which is always appreciated by the shooter (one who makes mistakes like me). Show a guy how to adjust the scope and tell him what feedback you want, and ye shall receive.
I managed to guide him onto target at all ranges, and getting a V-bull hit at 600 meters along with a pile of 4s was a great confidence builder for him.

I had a great time, and I believe the atmosphere at these matches is nothing but constructive for new shooters like Kilo One where other competitors are always willing to help.

See you in a couple of weeks.

Thanks to Barney and Morgan for another well run weekend. Thanks for giving up your weekend to shoot doing sentry Morgan.
Great weekend over all weather wise too. Rain held off till the drive home.
See you soon.

“If you wanna be great, be grateful!!”

These are words I’ve proudly stolen from much wiser folks than me, they might not be able to shoot as well, but I will live by them as I encourage you to do the same!!

I have so many things to be grateful for:

* my organizer and point man, the Prez of the Petawawa GC Morgan or ChalkRiver2, we are brothers from another mother
* Range Control for a smooth sign in process and faster March off procedure...we have a stellar reputation with them
* my fantastic butts officers who kept all target presentations running slicker than snot on a doorknob and still tolerate my fight with the radio batteries
* my newbies who challenge me in my delivery because they remind me that without them our discipline will die, like other disciplines in Ontario and across the country (just look for their clinics on google)
* my shooters who keep improving their scores, they remind me why I’m doing this....NSCC bound...
* our spouses and family who keep our homes warm as we venture through crazy driving situations lately
* the Garrison Petawawa Base Commander who allows us to use their ranges to create recreational opportunities, I am honoured!!
* the duck and diamond duck who helped me immensely with stats recording...lots of pressure and we nailed it all

* my mentors like: Keith and Linda at Milcun dot com and their crew MikeB, Scott/Marsha, DickS, Ian, AaronG...and many more
* more mentors of mine who taught me how to run the smoothest competitions around here: TimK, I’m holding the torch, buddy!
* my CANSOFCOM mentors who keep pushing me to raise my game, my delivery, my training, and my editing skills...I am deeply honoured... Thank you for always being in my corner and having my back during those dark days of doubt and wonder if I could ever get it right!!

For many other things I’ve forgotten, I am forever grateful....

Cheers, Barney

Great news Morgan, Heather, and family, congratulations.

Had a great time, thanks to all that put this on and all who attended that made it the enjoyable event that it is.

Looking forward to the June match.

See you in a couple of weeks.

When you help a new person , you raise your own game..... warmest thanks for your help. I realized you both rocked the Bushnell 10 x 40mm LR scope. You have just elevated your game!

Cheers, Barney

Oh yeah , I need to thank all the shooters for dilligently handing over the $10 or single day $5 sentry fee....thanks very much for that. The reality is, sentry folks need to carry out the Garrison Petawawa Range Control requirement for an active sentry throughout the shooting duration.

I’ve seen situations where visitors end up driving across the range in search of their relatives, who were/are likely working down in the butts.

And that’s why we have a sentry posted especially when we are at Bravo Range we share the entrance to Alpha Range....some of you keeners might have noticed that arrangement.

Thanks for your understanding and care....next PR match remind me to tell this story of the visitor crossing the firing line with their vehicle.... we titled them , Mr. Magoo....

Cheers, Barney
