Hey, I'm not home, so I can't just measure my barrel. I have a 12.5" NEA heavy barrel that I am trying to order a gas block for. Can anyone tell me the diameter of the barrel at the gas port so I know what diameter to order please? Thanks.

Found it on your site, one purchased....that's pretty steep shipping for such a small item, but I appreciate your quick response to my thread, so you get my business. Wish you had Bolt Carrier Groups and more variety on the comp's and flash hiders.

At one point in time, NEA was making their barrels with the journal diameter .750"-.000 (as stated by a company representative) and some people were having a hard time fitting other (standard) brands of gas blocks onto them. (standard '.750' journal diameter is between .7483-.7493). While it doesn't seem like a huge difference, it's the difference between the gas block sliding on snugly, and an interference fit (not going on).

I do not know if this is currently still the case.

you will see alot more of that from us in 2013.
the shipping is our flat rate shipping, due to how many packages canada post lose each year we have to insure it ,right now we have 19 missing packages from decelber alone, that being said we shipped tones of stuff in december, but that has to be the worst ive seen it.
The item is also to thick to ship letter mail even if we wanted too.
Its a well made products so i know you will be happy!
Thanks for buying Canadian!

While your measurements may be correct for some variation of history, I'm getting sick of all the Anti NEA crap on this board. I bought an NEA stripped lower and people spent a month whining at me that it was going to be all out of spec etc. Everything so far has fit perfectly on it, so the NEA bashers are just complaining about a Canadian company that may have had some growing pains at first, but now seems to be putting out an excellent product.

Thanks, I get the reason for the high shipping, but isn't $100 insurance included in every parcel mailed? No big deal, like I said, I ordered from you without even comparing prices because you responded so quickly to the thread.

*shrugs* I wasn't being 'anti-NEA', and the size of being "exactly .750" was directly from a (at the time) representative of NEA.

Sorry for trying to give you a heads-up on a possible fit issue in response to a question you asked.. Maybe you should have just bought an NEA gas block, then there would have been no reason for me to mention it.

Perhaps I was a bit quick to assume your intentions. I've already ordered the S&J one, but I'm assuming they'll refund it if they need to since it was them that gave me the size.

All of the parts I put on the lower fit perfectly, so hopefully the barrel is the same way.

Many people have used our gas block on NEA barrles, we have not had any issues reported so it should be just what you need.
As you stated if for any reason the part does not fit to spec feel free to return it.

If you have issue putting on the gasblock, put the barrel in the a freezer for around an hour. If it's still too tight, put the barrel back in the deep freeze. Place the gasblock in an oven, toaster oven works, on low heat for 10 minutes. You want to warm it up, but not read smoking hot.

If it doesn't slide on with some tapping, it won't go. If it does go, you might never get it off.
