Just wondering how much lube I should be putting on gas checked rifle bullets.

Also, do you normally do it all at once or in separate steps?
I'm using a Lyman LubeSizer press and have the gas check seating limiter attachment thingy...

Bullets are .324 (as cast) and I'm sizing to .323 for 8mm Mauser and .312 (as cast) being sized to .312 for 7.62x54R and .303

Thanks!

Turn the lube screw enough the fill the grooves in the bullet. Sometimes it'll take a couple tries. Make sure your sizer is the correct temp so the lube flows ok. It's exactly the same as an unchecked bullet.

If you use the gas check seater attachment you'll have to do two steps - you can't lube with the gas check seater in place.

In most cases I don't use the seater attachment, I just push the check on the bullet to get it started square on the shank, and run it through the lubesizer in one step like you would with a plain based bullet. If you have bullets that are a pia to get the check started square then the seater is handy, otherwise it's just extra work for nothing.

This is exactly what I do. I've never used the stopper under the ram to seat the gas check. All done in one stroke.
