Have quite a few 158gr SWC in .357 from a past hand gun. Plan on using them in a .358 Winchester. They are already sized and lubed. Can they still be gas-checked. If so, does anyone have an idea what velocities such a projectile will be able attain with some degree of accuracy?
Are they of a proper gas-checked design?
If there's no recess for the gas-check, trying to install one is risky at best.
If they are of a design intended for a gas-check, you can crimp a gas-check on them without sizing by running the bullets in the same die you used for sizing and grease-coating them the first time.
