What are the good or bad or any gas checks available in canada?

I've used a few hundred Hornady for 30 cal. is my only experience.

What are the brands and who stocks them? What do you stay away from?

Thanx in advance

Home made one work as good as any commercial ..even the aluminium one work great.
You are overthinking this. A gas check is a simple thing. You should worry more about your cast bullet consistency in weight and fit to bore than anything else.

I'll check them out. All Ive used is Hornady but I keep seeing all these other brands in videos and other posts.

I’ve been making gas checks (mostly aluminum but some copper) for 20 years. I’d say 90% of my home-mades are excellent, 8% are pretty good and 2% discarded. Even though the 8% aren’t perfect, they shoot pretty well. On the other hand, 100% of the commercial ones are excellent so you’d know that poor accuracy would likely be due to other factors. So far as I can see, commercial gas checks (from different manufacturers) are as good as each other so price is the biggest purchase driver.

Describe please how you home-make a gas check. It is a shallow copper cup, and that part of the forming seems easy. How does the "checker" evenly trim the sides?

I have an order from them inbound too. Customs apparently needed a couple weeks to look at it but it's on the way again.

Hoping to make my own dies like Yomomma one day too.

Yes! Once I get back to Edmonton this summer I’ll have access to lathe and milling machine to make some tools.
Just noticed I need some for my LE No4.

As for gc, I ordered Gator copper.
Plus 1000 aluminum to try.
