Yep - so long as when it's on it doesn't hit the top of the "box".
(CR Speed ones on an unmodified STI or Tanfoglio don't.)

Ive used one on my limited custom a few years ago, u might need to enlarge the holes a smidge to accommodate the m4 screws, quick fix
