Gas tube scope mount SKS. Are they any good.

If you check your sks, you'll probably notice that both the front handguard and rear dust cover WIGGLE. Some more than others. They way that they're attached to the rifle are not conducive towards a solid mount.

There are plenty of legitimate uses for a scope/RDS on an SKS. Poor eyesight being the most obvious; a severe dislike for the rudimentary irons being a close second.

yeah, you CAN scope an SKS - but your options are very few for a SOLID mount that won't loose zero..

Let me see if I can dig up my old responses because I've answered this a few times and don't want to type it again... hold please :)

OK found em:

Please research optics first, including SKS use with red dots.
Bottom line is there are very few mounts that hold a zero.

Drill and tap for optimum results.
Bc tactical rear sight leaf mount holds a zero for red dots.

BOTH options may require the ejector port mod as the spent brass (steel!) usually bounces off your optics. Bad news over the long haul.

Really think about what you want out of this rifle. It's a great battle rifle for its intended purpose. Not too much more.

Check the EE and notice many SKS's with all the plastic accessories for sale. They don't tend to move to quickly.
I'm not trying to discourage you - just make sure you research before spending

Cheers! And good luck!
