Gatehouse has a lever gun...

Pppppfffttt......edumacate yourself young grasshopper!:p

It can achieve the same power at lower pressure than the .44, and loaded at higher pressures surpass the .44, plus your doing it all with a wider bullet. The .44 is magnum in name only, .45 is where it's at!:D

Hmmmph...I have a Marlin in 45/70 and another in 30-30. Been thinking about a 44 mag for fun but if I went 45 i would have to load another caliber.

I've never hunted with one, but I seem to be acquiring them.

Got a Marlin 336 clone (Sears Model 45 last year) that took a bit of work to clean up.

This one fell in my lap this month. I just put the Williams sight on it and I'm waiting for a free day to go shoot it.

Check out "Skinner Sights", they may have somthing there you like instead of the factory sights

I have a Skinner on my 1895 45-70 and my advice is to order another aperature smaller than the .096" that it comes with. I ordered the brass one but got the blue and the one other thing I would change is I would mill the top corners to 45 degrees so they are not sharp.

Gatehouse: if you get out to the Valley, you can take a look at it.
