Picked up a short 18" barrel.

The new saftery is en route
Might put a sling on it still, have front and rear loops.

Thank you for respecting the old barrel and not chopping it off. Gun looks great.

Absolutely! That old long full choke barrel serves a purpose and will not be messed with it! It has taken crows out of the sky for me and will continue to do so!

It always blows me away when I see how nice just a vintage piece of production wood was back in the day after it is refinished
Cheers

For real, better then anything new I see on the shelf now.

Great job. Want to sell it now? ;)

Hahah nope!

It is nice to see someone taking an interesting and restoring those older shotguns. I think you did a wonderful job.
Maybe this could be a part time money making hobby. :)

Possibly, I dont think I have the space for a hot blue set up though. Would be nice though!

Nice work refurbishing a great old gun. People don’t realize quite how good a deal the old guns like this are. Sure most of chin sees a potential tactical build or some silly butchery. For any bird hunter of limited funds or somebody looking to get into shotgunning wether clays, birds or both, it’s hard to come up with a better value for the $. Most anything new in the same price range as most of the old fixed choke pumps is junk, and even more so when compared to the quality of materials and manufacture of the older gun.

Hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it. Shoot it tillyou tire and then shoot it some more. It can handle all that and some.

I love refurbishing old guns but hate to think what the hourly rate would work out too :).
Currently working on an old Cooey, the wood is nice, excellent job, your shotgun looks better than new.

Good work on the stock refinish, looks like a nice shotgun. Is this the same 870 you started a thread about not long ago?

Yes sir, very same! Wanted advice on what to do with it. Got it, fallowed through!

100%

I got this for an absolute steal, you would double take if I told you how much I paid haha.

This gun took some crows for me, still can and still will... It takes 2 seconds to swap over to legal hunting regs again or clay smashing.

Question for a few of you! Where could I source a new butt plate for this old gal ? The current one is banged up, chipped and has seen better days.

I tried just a kick-ez synthetic pad but their 870 wing master doesn't fit my 870 wing master lol it is too skinny. Holes are in right spot though. Also it is flat, where as my wood stock has a slight curve in it.

An original part would be cool, id be very fine with a nice synth though as this gun is going to be shot a lot! lol

You could try Western Gun Parts in Edmonton. They can get some obscure and common parts.
