Just curious if anyone has used this ammo in 6.5x55 swede.

I was tempted to grab one the other day but never heard of it before. Mainly just plinking fun stuff with the hopes to reload the brass as I am planning on just using it as a target gun. It is a Tikka Barrel so I am not totally sure what brass is best as I have heard American stuff and European stuff can be different sizes Slightly.

Cabela's has it for 120$ a box of 50 and they are 100gr bullets is what the Cabela's website says and I don't trust photos.

Any experience with the 6.5x55 or just the brand in general is appreciated.

10.1 grams is about 155 grains. Traditional long round nosed 6.5mm bullet.
$2.40 plus tax each... Pricey plinking...

GECO is good ammunition.

Yeah I was thinking more so for the brass and reloading. As well as some shooting. I did edit to point out that the website says 100grain bullets even though the photo shows otherwise.

I bought a box. A bunch of the brass was tarnished, it seems to shoot 1-1.5 moa out of my zastava with a m8 6x.

I think the lapua I can get locally for basically the same price is a better buy, though it does go on sale at Cabelas for ~$90.

I used to have a couple of rifles in that caliber . they are long gone . very light recoiling rifle and very flat shooting . the only ammo I ever shot out of them was the military stuff and some Lapua 151 Grain stuff . it blew ground hogs to pieces.

I haven't shot any yet but when i orders it i got RWS match ammo instead of the GECO stuff in the pictures. It's gone on sale a few times for $90, so i'd wait for it to get marked down again if you don't need it right now.
Check the reviews on the cabelas site, the pictures there are exactly what i got

I bought a few boxes a couple of different times at two different Cabelas. Both times it wasn't Geco like shown; it was RWS. It's a decent, easy shooting, lightweight 100gr match ammo. Nice brass, comparable to Lapua. If you get it on sale, it's about as good a buy as you will get for a factory target load. Pretty consistent sub-0.5 groups out of my T3X at 100.
