Shot the Federal 400 in Brooks Alberta on the weekend and ended up with a less than crowd pleasing score of 258. I bet I'd be well over 300 if I could have hit a few more Frikken incomers. Minis midis standards, I missed them all, well time for some more lessons. FS

Lifting our head up are we, so we can see the nice cloud of black smoke when we vaporize those nice fluffy incomers ????
Another possibility is stopping the gun. High overhead incomers drove me batty until I figured out what I was doing. Eyes on the target, gun comes up to the target, once the barrel blots out the target, eyes go to bead, gun slows and miss behind.

My approach is to set up slightly angled on the target path and shoot them more like a crosser if possible.

Most incomers of the closer variety, that go right over the station when I miss them, I think I'm not catching up to them with my 30 inch pipe, gonna go back to shooting my 20 gauge as I move that gun faster, Thanks guys

Spend some time shooting Skeet at 8, particularly 8 low ....

If you've got the field to yourself ... move half way between station 8
and the low house ... guaranteed you'll learn to pick your timing up while covering the bird with a smooth, fast swing !

Don't get discouraged ... but practice your difficult targets until you resolve
them ... and remember, if it ain't working - change something. To keep doing the same thing the same way and expect a different result is insanity !

Incomers drive as many people nuts as do rabbitts, springing teal and long crossers, etc. ... but there is a method or two for shooting each effectively. You need to find out what the method is for you to break them consistantly, and
practice those shots specifically until you can. Trying them on a station for half a dozen shots or so once a week without success will just keep you frustrated.

:( I had a hard time on one peg at the Palmeto FITASC, Joe Cantey's club in N.C. It took a while to get it, but not last week or at the Ruger. Number one: Don't ride the bird!:D
#2, choose a sweet spot then: move, mount and shoot (swing through) the target. I have not lost one since!:) As soon as you pass the beak of the target, squeeze, not punch the trigger.

I hope this helps, try it at your club1
e;) Best regards,
Henry
