We can finally talk about this after months of NDA :)

You may have seen the microscopic sub-MOA groups that Geissele have been posting from the secret rifle project. Well, behold the King Hunter. The 7mm Backcountry was developed based on a DOD requirement and is now presented as a revolutionary new hunting and target cartridge. Magnum+ Velocities with a 20" barrel, the new 80,000psi cartridge from Federal.

We have them on order and will also be distributing to your local firearms shops (shops, if you haven't ordered, 1-844-579-0007, Dealer Sales). The wait list is open, please contact us at info@armseast.com to secure your rifle today! $3800USD.

Edit, Pre=Order now live.

We have a ammo coming with our first rifle from the mother ship and will be hitting the local 1000 yard range as soon as they arrive. Federal will be producing lots of ammo. The cartridge and rifle were only announced on Tuesday of this week.

We are quite stoked about the rifle itself. I think people will be impressed at what Geissele has created for their first bolt action. This rifle has been a long time coming. It is a passion project from passionate shooter/engineer/manufacturer. The cartridge being the of fairly insane spec is a bonus. Two years I was amazed watching an AR sized rifle making hits at 1200m in the mountains, in the wind (6mm ARC), now a 30-06 sized cartridge offering twice the energy of a 30-06 at 1000 yards with a 20" barrel. It is ballistics voodoo!

And what does one expect to pay for a 20 round box of 7mm Back-Country ammunition?

Wait for it.................

I hope we are sitting down once you guys answer!......:) LOL

$52US for Federal Fusion 175gn.

Same price as 7mm Rem Mag, 280, etc. Less than the 300WM. Ammo for these is 'normal' price vs comparable calibres.

(and cheaper than 45-70 @ $58.99 :) lol)

That’s still close to $75.00 per box CDN.

Not horrible I guess, all things considered.

Let’s hope if people buy this rifle, the ammo doesn’t dry up…..:)

At nearly $5400 CAD you can build a better rifle that’s lighter and has better ammo availability. Hard pass.
A Stevens 200 in 30-06 is lighter and has better ammo availability, so yes. Better though? The main reveal of GA's new bolt action hasn't happened yet as I type this, it is coming this week though, so you can't back up any claim of better.

I stand by my original comment. I was referring to build offerings rather than a Cabela’s off the counter package special. You can get a rock solid action from one of many great manufacturers, any barrel of your choice (any contour/calibre), and an unlimited set of chassis options including carbon.

Also, this is GA’s first bolt action offering and many other high-end companies have done it longer (with regards to high quality components). This reminds me of the hype surrounding the DD Delta 5 prior to it’s release. It looked cool, but the price had people turning to building rifles at a similar price point. The tune changes slightly if GA offers other calibres. However, as of right now, this is meh at best.

Yep this pressure with a short barrel won't be fun with a muzzle brake and I suppose the recoil won't be fun either without one. We badly need suppressors in Canada.

Ya but those rifles are all 65k PSI max. This is the first pressure increase we've seen in cartridge design in over 125 years!
YMMV, but it doesn’t mean squat if you can’t easily acquire ammo for your $5400 safe queen. Not saying there’s no appeal, but it’s hardly practical at that price point and that’s being polite. Not to mention you’ll be saving for a new barrel the second you start running this thing.
