German 98k

Hey all,

I am looking to get a WWII era German mauser...the 98k. I am wanting one with a great barrel, looks good, works well ect. Matching numbers are not really needs...I just want it pretty. It will be a shooter. What should I expect to pay and where should I start looking?

Also...I am wanting...if possible the hooded front sight and the cleaning rod....just like the looks.

Sorry I am really a NOOB on this rifle!

Look to spend around $599, post an ad in EE. Lots of nice mismatched shooters come up for sale.

RC Kar98k, post 1941 examples should have the slot on the front sight for the hood. You can get the hood, cleaning rod, and sling packages off of E-bay for ~ $30 and have yourself a really nice looking shooter.

RC Kar98ks seem to sit in the $500-550 range now.
