German AYDT Rifle Value

Hi there. I have been approached by a fellow who has acquired a large lot of firearms from his friend. Included was an all original condition German AYDT action Kipplauf in 8.15x46R caliber. It’s a sweet little gun for which he has some brass and dies. I did shoot the rifle when I was there and it had a small issue with ejection with the remade 30-30 brass. It’s got no embellishments but a very nice manlicher stock and effective iron sites. The bore is great and the previous owner loaded with smokeless powder.

I am just wondering if anyone had an idea on price? Thanks

Is it a kipplauf?

Looks more like a falling block action, made by Haenel in Germany.

The caliber 8.15x46R originated in the German Wehrmannsgewehr, which looks like a Gewehr 98, and was used for target shooting only.

The rifle is worth what an interested buyer is willing to pay for it. ~$ 500

Yes it is a falling block so by definition it is not a Kipplauf. It is set up as a handy little package though for sure. I know the 8.15x46R was used for a lot of target rifles in this action but this gun was certainly meant to hunt smallish game. I am surprised with the $500 estimation for sure…. You are right though…. It’s worth what someone will pay, haha.
