I don't know if you guys are seeing like me the price of a German k98 these days are going off this planet why ????? even a Russian capture is about $900.00.
You can buy a matching Yugo in a exceptional condition out of the cosmo for $500.00.

I want to know how you guys are thinking the same way.

Regards
Jacques

An RC for $900 is crazy but that's where we are at. Most collectors in Canada are happy with RC for their Nazi gun so you can get that cash. It's ruined thearket for anything better then RC but less then perfect.

I'd never pay that for one but clearly people will.

I'm not sure what you're asking? You're comparing a Yugo to a German to an RC? They're all vastly different with different levels of availability and collectibility. Yugo may look nice but have almost zero German markings intact on most of them. RC's have most markings intact. Both are easily available, both total m/m. Matching originals are hard to come by and highly collectible.

Something is worth what someone will pay for it. Never thought I'd see the day when a Colt Python commands $4000+.

What I'm saying is a Yugo Mauser in perfect condition will give you as much satisfaction on the range than a German for a quarter of the price is it worth it to pay so much for some ugly birds or it's in the personal satisfaction to have this rifle in particular.

For my part the trill will be so much more intense to buy a matching rifle full of cosmoline thinking that I'm the first owner.

A Yugo will give you an infinite more amount of pleasure on the range than a matching original since shooting a matching original is a stupid thing to do in my opinion and many other collectors opinion. I have no intention of ever shooting any of mine.

You're thinking this price thing over the wrong way. You're not taking collectibility or scarcity into the equation.

I know there's two way of thinking one way is not more stupid than the other one where is the fun to have a gun that cost so much and never shoot it it's like having a 1969 Stingray and let her in the garage and never drive her.

I will be very happy to take a German K98 to the range and fire a couple of rounds and show her to the guys at the range and talk about WW2 history.
