Have seen one prominently marked LPW and LP W-B.

Landespolizei Wurttemberg and Wurttemberg/Bayern.

Wurttemberg and Wurttemberg/Bavaria State Police.

Or so I am told.......

These are both Bavarian marked M1 carbines.

The top one is marked Bavaria Rural Police as well as WB-LP-2265 (Württemberg Landes Polizei.)

The markings on the trigger guard are from the Wuerttemberg Landes Polizei- Wuerttemberg's version of Bavaria's Rural Police.
It was likely given to Bavaria by Wuerttemberg, who got it probably 1946-1948.
