German proofed High Powers

A Browning has a stronger value in Canada than almost any other 9mm. The WWII Belgian ones might be a bit less polished or may have arguably suspect metalugry, Consider that twenty years ago a commercial Browning was going for $350 to $500. Did your Combat Tupperwear appreciate equally well?

Browning high powers made under german occupation should be checked out. i have one in my collection and it doesn't compare to the early pre-ww2 high powers.

"...German proof-stamped..." Acceptance marks, not proof marks. Not that it matters.
"...may have arguably suspect metalugry..." Belgian FN workers were rumoured to have sabotaged as many as they could. Never been proven though. Kind of suspect it is just a rumour too. Pistol blows up in the hands of some SS type and a workie and/or his family get sent to the camps.

$200 would have been a steal even ten years ago.
I prefer the fit and finish of the early post war guns myself (bottom two in pic), but the "Nazi" and pre-war Belgium HPs are pretty cool too
