Just curious, what was the benefit or use of having that little small lense scope mount on the k98? Can't have been easy to get a good scope picture, kindof looks like it would almost be a hindrance.

They have a really low magnification, something like 1.5 so it acts more like a aimpoint than a scope. I got to handle one at a show and it worked well.

Its not suitable for sniper work though.

Thanks Joe, I have a another byf 44 with a high turret scope to post yet!

k98k - S42 Reworked East German, Cad scope, High Turret with an original marked rear sight leather cover.
G43 - ac44 with ddx scope original rubber & sun shield
K98k - bnz 43 with zf adapter and zf41 scope & scope can 1.5 power
G41 - duv43 w correct repro mount and a zf41 scope with sun shields & blank adapter (not installed)

All rifles are equipped with original slings,cleaning rods and front sight hoods where applicable.

I have a spare repro mount available for the G41 along with spare G43 stocks and misc G43 parts
 
Oh Wow!! Thanks again for showing:D These are excellent examples of what we collectors pray to come across one day!
Too bad my letter to Santa was mailed already, because I would have loved to put any one of those on my wish list:).
