That's cool, I've seen lots of pictures of the Germans using captured Russian weapons, but very few with British examples. (Hmmm-hmmmm!)
:ang3

Latvia purchased a huge pile of P-14's from the British in the early 20's along with some purpose made carbines for the cavalry. They also obtained a small quantity of P-14 snipers with Aldis scopes as well.

Another vote for interwar Latvians thought the Germans did make use of (like Most everyone else) of captured Weapons. By 1918 the German navy was completely armed with captured Russian small arms, the Mausers had all been given to the Army.

Sorry to thread jack, but what were the standard issue weapons for the newly independent Latvian Army (1918)?

Once they were independent and organised, the Latvians called their standard rifles "Ross-Enfields".

It is known that they had a bunch of Pattern 14s, but I have seen a photo, taken in Riga in 1926, of several hundred men, all with Mark III Ross Rifles. So they had at least a mixture of these two types. British aid following the Great War got Latvia such fun toys as Sopwith Camels with Vickers guns.

Earlier, they used German equipment in their fight against Germany at the conclusion of the Great War. The British ran in a destroyer at that time with German smallarms and 16,000 pounds Sterling in German ammunition.

Hope this helps.

To get a little off topic. Who else noticed that the helmet in the foreground has scoops by the ears, but the one in the background is a normally shaped stahlhelm.
