I'm talking about the mostly West German surplus stuff made by the government, popularly known as DAG. There were truckloads of this fairly good stuff around before UNOWHO got elected but I'm not finding it anymore, wondering if it's been seen elsewhere in Canada. Last I knew there were issues with the packaging and corrosion and people were tending to use it up ASAP?

There used to be truck loads of all kinds of milsurp 7.62. Mostly gone now, due to the assorted militaries changing to 5.56 and a whole bunch of government interference.

I can still get corrosive Commie stuff, at least I always assume it's corrosive. OK, I guess the DAG must be assumed to be all gone, I was hoping they would keep releasing milsurp stocks of it annually.

Still lots of it available from multiple vendors if you live in the USA, $80 for a 200 round battlepack or 1,000rds (5 packs): $389.75ea -

1990's Surplus German NATO 7.62x51 (.308) ammunition. This is beautiful, accurate ammunition packaged for long term storage. Features a 147grn lead core full copper and nickel (magnetic) jacketed bullet, brass case, and non-corrosive berdan primer. Packed 20rds in a box, 200rds (10 boxes) in a sealed waterproof PVC battlepack. While supplies last.

I notice that the Austrian Hirtenberger ammo is labelled stG 58, which indicates that it was made for use in the Austrian variant of the FAL. Altho Austria is not a NATO member and this ammo would not bear the NATO compatibility mark, it is a fair assumption that this ammo is NATO compatible, and therefore usable in M14 types or 7.62 chambered Garands by reason of it's use in the Austrian FAL.
