What should I know, and where should I look, in order to prepare for searching for a nice shootable WWII P38? It seems there are some knowledgable users on this forum.

All info appreciated.

Many thanks, Albertacowboy

Obviously the bore.

If you want a dedicated shooter a post war one is better. But if you need it to be ww2, it will need new springs or you'll run the risk of cracking the slide.

Frame, slide, barrel and locking block should all match serials and waffenamt code. The locking block will just have the last three digits.

None are really any better in terms of function, so just find one you like.
