don`t know the manufacturer, but its 22LR. single shot, pull back in cocking piece to ####.
i`ll be picking it up in Jan or Feb and will post pics. paid $250. have not actually seen it in about a year, the owner finally decided to sell it to me. buying it for a shooter, as it is nowhere near mint due to poor care and storage. does anyone have any more info on this, or have one?

If it's a Deutsche Werke with the hinged breech block you got burned badly.
Someone had to say it. SW sask is full of them.
googled this. pretty sure its that or a break open. never seen one before, maybe i`ll keep my money, as the delivery date is based on me rounding up the cash. i`ll give it a very critical going over and revise the deal from there. he keeps saying it`s a hitler youth rifle.
i grew up in SK near Regina. never came across one of these, ever. but still think it is cool

Ask for pictures, then post them here. Someone will give you a positive identification of it, and possibly an idea of what it is worth. Right now, with your description, anything is a guess.

If it is a mod 1 I bought mine with a cracked stock for 50$ saw a near perfect one running for about 100 and a 9mm flobert one for 90.

The single-shot, rear-of-the-bolt cooking piece rifles were known generically as knabenbuchse - boy's/youth's rifles, and were never intended to be used by the HJ organisation. The designation for the many makes of rifles that WERE designed for 'youth organisation' activities like the Boy Scouts and HJ were called DSM - Deutsche Sport Modelle - rifles, and were intentionally made to mimic the style of then-then current Wehrmacht service rifle - the Gew9K. So they had a set of sights that was the same distance between the front and rear of the service arm and a stock that had the same style sling attachments, front and rear, but were, of course, shorter in the stock to accommodate shorter arms of youthful shooters aged 13 and up.

We need pics, but I'm of the opinion that your vendor is confusing 'youth' with Hitler Youth.
