I've had a /625\ Chinese SKS for a while now and use it as my primary SKS shooter. Never had all the parts for it either. Just a plastic Tapco orphan mutt.

With the help of some fellow CGNers I slowly amassed a mag, spike bayo, and now finally today, a stock.
I'm still working on the handgaurd (which I now have) but it still needs some work on its stubborn pin.
So for now it wears a black plastic one. Looks good anyways I figure. (For a shooter at least)

Last week I thankfully picked up another /625\, this one unfired, all matching and still dripping with cosmo.

So here they are.

My shooter, totally mismatched but back in original form, and the new one.

Multiplying like Gremlins....

My son has an older Chi/Com /26\ made on Russian tooling with blade bayonet screwed in barrel not pinned that shoot better than any other SKS i've had or shot. Not for sale.Harold

Despite being from the same factory, you can just barely see in the photos how the bottom rifle has a thinner, more sleek trigger, compared to the top which is thicker, and less refined.
They both seem to have equally nice pull though, but the bottom one feels nicer on the finger.

I've heard about the soft Chu wood, but I actually find these two stocks feel quite hard and solid.
In addition, the top rifle is noticeably heavier than the bottom. I was surprised at its weight, because its heavier than any of my Russians too.

Ahhhhh.....very nice my friend ,very nice indeed !

I found at times ,the Chu wood may be quite dense or almost like Balsa wood.

I think I may have a spare top hand guard ,send me a PM if interested.

Cheers

Thanks, I have two of the wood covers but they don't really match the stock because they are almost gold in colour.
I have a full gas tube with wood on it. But the pin is stuck halfway out from a previous removal attempt.
I've done a few before, but my last drill bit broke and it won't punch out. I need a new stronger bit. I have a replacement pin, just gotta get this one out.
