Can anyone recommend a good product to remove lead fouling from my lever gun and revolver. I would like to try and avoid too much scrubbing with a brush.

Thanks in advance for all the info.

Hoppe's Lead Remover. It's a few small round brass screens, that you form over the bore jag they include - different ones for different calibres. You push it through the bore and it picks up the lead on the way past. Usually, two or three passes is enough.
Works way better for me, than anything else I've tried.
Oh ya' - and stop using lead bullets - use plated or jacketed.

Look up the formula for "Eds Red"

Make up batch and after plugging the muzzle with a cork or rubber stopper, with the muzzle resting ''down'' inside a plastic container, fill the bore with Ed's Red and leave it sit for 24 hours.

The solution will penetrate under the lead/carbon fouling and is easily brushed out with a bronze brush.

As suggested, use powder coated or plated bullets if possible.

If you're casting your own, powder coating is a very simple and well worthwhile endeavor.

Mercury works well too.

Yes, but unless you have a special permit you can't purchase it over the counter and it's darned expensive when you can.

I know people who reclaim the mercury out of thermal switches, but it's got to be used with some stringent safety measures.

I only shoot cast loads in my rifles and have good results using Wipe Out No Lead using patches and nylon brushes. I give the bores a final go with
a couple patches lightly moistened with Seafoam Deep Creep to finish.
