Getting an ATT in BC

ok. i've heard two leads on how to go about getting one:

a) the range will handle it when you get a handgun?

b) file paperwork yourself found off of the CFP website?

i've also heard i need to have the gun in my possession before i can apply for the ATT...?

can i get some direction on how to get my ATT in BC please?

Step #1 Get range membership
Step#2 Buy restricted handgun or rifle
Step#3 Complete ATT aplication form and send to BC CFO
Step#4 Wait

If I remember correctly, you need your ATT first before the CFO will finalize your purchase.

If you want join a gun club so you can purchase a restricted firearm here is a way to do it cheap. Silvercore is a accredited gun club without a range. Their fee to join is $30.00 and help with all the forms. No need to spend the big bucks until you know what you want in a gunclub/range.

i heard about silvercore, but am a little bit wary of running into law enforcement officers that don't consider it 'valid'; i'm sure it's all good. i joined a club that i've been shooting at frequently.

so we've got one vote for get gun first then att, and one vote for get att before the gun...

Get your ATT then get your pistol.

And as far as Silvercore goes, they are legit, the CFO wouldn't have issued me and many, many others an ATT if they weren't. If you are stopped, the LE will look at your ATT and not your club membership, so shouldn't be any concerns in that department. LE don't get to decide whether a CFO issued ATT is 'valid' or not.

You can join a club then apply for it.. You can get a long term with out a club.. just put looking for a club on the paper work.. they will pester you but if your firm ect you can get it.. I just joined a club faxed my paper work 2 times and had it next day I was supprized it was so fast.. the next day bought a pistol 1 day later walked home with it.. bought another one was part way home same day had to go pick it up.. its funny that way sometimes.. other time it took 3 days..

I had 0 restricted and i got my long term.. I got it frist because I was like hmm should join a range screw it might as well get the paper work out of the way..
