Getting bored with just plinking a few rounds from a fixed fire line? Want to do something both mentally and physically challenging? Then you should come and try one of the Ontario Rifle Association’s CQB shooting events.
Our timed matches are a line of up to ten at a time from 35 yards down to 10 yards. You have only a few seconds to get your shots onto your targets, using both semi-auto rifles (typically Ar15s) and handguns (drawn from holster. No Black Badge required).
Matches are run as a practice first, then over again as a marked competition. Matches include advance 5 yards at a time firing 4 rounds (two at each target) each move for 20 rounds total. There is also a modified prone of 20 rounds, plus a walk and shoot at the same time of 10 rounds.
Pistol shots are from 25 down to 10 yards intermixed with rifle.
We run some 8 to 9 events per year come rain or shine (in the snow is even more fun!). Every event has prizes culminating in the yearly Championship Competition (which includes a great BBQ lunch!)
If you are interested in some real action type shooting events, take a look at 2015 ORA CQB Schedule and 2015 ORA CQB Thread
Get signed up for the next event. Don’t wait, come and check us out first if you want. Guaranteed you’ll be hooked!
