I know there is a million differnt opinions but I am looking for a run of the mill trap gun single shot 12ga 2 3/4" would like to spend under 500 if possibile any suggestions??
Thanks in advance'
A Wingmaster is a great idea - solid, reliable, and they never go out of style...
If you want some flexibility think of a gun with choke tubes. I've seen guys with an interest in trap that go out and get a trap-specific gun only to, and sometimes soon after, discover skeet and or sporting clays. If this might happen, a trap gun will be limiting. Just something to think about...
Above all, gun fit is very important. If you find a 2-shot+ gun that fits and has interchangeable chokes, one gun will let you try all the clay-bird sports.
Good luck and grind 'em up!

I'm JUST (3 weeks ago) starting out in the sport, and am currently shooting a 1957 Wingmaster, full choke. Breaking on avg 17 of 25 targets with it. Not great, but when I shoot other members guns, my score improves, so I think the full choke as a slight handycap actually helps. Easy to clean and reliable, great starting out gun.I'm JUST (3 weeks ago) starting out in the sport, and am currently shooting a 1957 Wingmaster, full choke. Breaking on avg 17 of 25 targets with it. Now, for my next gun I want a semi-auto with an array of chokes... My problem is, most of the models I'm interested in, I cannot find a shell catcher for. This is important to me. I'm new at my club, and don't need any haters.
The catcher would need to be removed easily, on site, for transition from trap to SC. Any advice?

if you are worried about the price of a gun you may not want to shoot, sorry this is an expensive sport,if you still want in find an auto loader like a beretta, some can be had for a good price and are very reliable

Not helpful in the slightest, and also not true. After spending time speaking to folks at my club, it turns out there are some great options for intro guns, and a variety of price points. Thanks to all who replied with a helpful attitude. I'm about to invest in a 391 PT.
