I just got my PAL/RPAL issued (first timer), and I'd like to get a rifle registered. Unfortunately, although it's been issued, and they are 100% confident they are talking to me, the CFC apparently isn't authorized to tell me what the number is. They transferred me to the BC CFO, but they told me that they weren't authorized either . According to them, I could file a FOI, but by that time, the card would be here! :bangHead:

Any idea how well I could get that number?

talk to the dealer or seller they may allow you to put a down payment on it to hold it then wait til you get your card in the mail

Yup, down payment, or a buddy, or just pay the whole thing, get a reciept, and tell them you'll come back for it in a few weeks. A rifle doesn't take up much space, and the profit is fair for the gunshop.

Hmm, alright, that works. It's just that I heard of people getting issued their licence, then calling in, getting the number, and starting a transfer process for a handgun or rifle. Maybe for people who aren't first-timers?
